Quality Management System

Based on the project execution plan, a project quality plan shall be documented, executed, established, and maintained at all times for the scope of product and services of the project.

Quality Policy

Should be worded to thrive for improvement of quality management system.

It should be related to the product or services presented and should be communicated, understood, implemented, and maintained at all relevant functions and levels within the organization. So, it is not a mere slogan.

 

 

The quality policy should say what the company is trying to achieve, and it should be clear, concise and realistic.

Quality Objectives

The quality policy should be quantified and should be relevant to the product and customer requirements or tangible improvement in quality.

 

For example, reducing pipeline welding defect to below 1% by next year.

 

 

Planning

In order to establish a QMS, you should have a plan (scope and objectives, time scale, resources, list of activities, budget, any outsourcing).

Internal Communication:

Forming groups, holding sessions, holding training sessions to ensure that everybody within company understands where they fit in for execution of the project quality plan.

Document distribution and reflection of requirements in the project specifications are some of the methods for internal communication and raising awareness.

External Communication

The project quality plan and other relevant quality documents shall be an integral part of bids, Purchase Order and contract so the vendors and service providers understand the company’s modus operandi regarding the quality issues.
