Useful API Examination Tutorial
Before your API examination begins, you will be given access to a tutorial that explains how to use the computer-based testing interface. The tutorial familiarizes you with the examination screen, navigation tools, and available features so that you can concentrate on answering questions once the examination starts.
You can also access a link to the API examination tutorial through our free lessons, allowing you to become familiar with the exam interface before test day.
Tutorial Duration
The tutorial is allocated 10 minutes. If you become comfortable with the exam interface before the time expires, you may end the tutorial early and begin the examination immediately. Otherwise, the examination will start automatically when the tutorial time has elapsed.
The interface is intuitive and easy to use, but becoming familiar with it beforehand can help reduce stress on exam day.
Useful Examination Features
The API examination software includes several tools to help you manage your time effectively:
- Flag Questions: Mark questions you are unsure about so you can easily return to them later.
- Strike Out (Eliminate) Answers: Cross out answer choices that you know are incorrect. This helps you focus on the remaining options and improves your chances of selecting the best answer.
- Question Review: At any time during the examination, you can review:
- All questions
- Flagged questions
- Unanswered (incomplete) questions
These features allow you to work efficiently and make the best use of your available examination time.
Time Management
A countdown timer is displayed throughout the examination, showing the remaining time available. The examination automatically ends when the timer reaches zero, so it is important to monitor your progress and leave enough time to review flagged or unanswered questions.
