Pressure Vessel Inspector
Vessel inspection, repair, alteration and rerating under API 510 and ASME VIII.
Nine exam-style quizzes — 247 questions in total — written by working inspectors and referenced back to the code clause. Sit one, see where you actually stand, then decide how you want to prepare.
For a Class 1 piping circuit in continuous service, what is the maximum interval between external visual inspections?
Why — with the clause
Every answer comes back with the reasoning and the code paragraph it sits in, so you learn where to look in the standard — not just which letter was right.
Each quiz mirrors the style and difficulty of the real API examination for that code. Start the one you are studying for — or take two and compare your scores before you commit to a course.

Most free question sets online are recycled and unreferenced. Ours come out of the same bank our paying candidates train on, so the score you get here means something.
Every explanation points back to the paragraph in the code it comes from, so you build the habit of finding it in the book.
The result tells you which body-of-knowledge areas are weak before you spend money on a course or an exam booking.
The people who wrote these questions sit the audits and sign the reports. That is why the wording feels like the real paper.
Come back after a week of study and run it again. Nothing is locked, nothing expires, nothing is charged.
Click the code you are studying for. The quiz opens straight away — there is nothing to buy and no course to enrol in first.
Answer at your own pace, flag anything you want to revisit, and move back and forth between questions freely.
Enter a name and email at the end and your result comes back with the correct answers and the explanation behind each one.
A free quiz shows you the gap. These close it. Every option is self-paced, 100% online, and carries CPD hours towards recertification.

Between 20 and 47 questions depending on the code — 247 questions across the nine quizzes in total. API 1169 is the longest at 47 questions, API 510 has 46, and the API 570, 653 and 580 quizzes are 20 questions each.
Most of the free quizzes are untimed, so you can stop and think through the clause rather than race. The API SIRE quiz is the exception — it runs on a 20-minute timer. Timed, full-length mock exams under real conditions are part of the paid exam packages.
They are written to the same body of knowledge and in the same style, by inspectors who work to these codes. They are not copies of live API exam questions — nobody legitimately has those. What they do is train the reasoning and the clause-finding the real paper tests.
For context: the API 510 examination is 170 questions, of which 140 are scored — 110 closed book and 60 open book, across a 7.5-hour session. API does not publish a fixed pass mark; scoring is scaled.
Take the one for the certification you have booked or intend to book. If you are choosing between codes, API 510 and API 570 are the usual entry points for fixed-equipment inspectors, and API 653 if your work is storage tanks. API 571, 577 and 580 are endorsements that sit on top of those.
You get your score and the explanation behind each answer. Nothing is charged and nothing enrols you automatically. If the result shows a gap, the exam packages and full courses on this site are the next step — and you can retake the free quiz as many times as you like in the meantime.
Pick a code, sit the quiz, and find out in twenty minutes what the exam would have told you in seven and a half hours.
