On the other hand, API 510, known as the Pressure Vessel Inspection Code, outlines mandatory dos and don’ts, making it a code that must be followed.

Both documents share similar terminology, but API 572 enhances the understanding of API 510, which is based on ASME VIII, by offering insights from the perspectives of inspection, rating, repair, and alteration.

It’s noteworthy that approximately 50% of the questions on the API 510 exam are derived from these two documents alone.
