Installation, Operation and Maintenance Manual (IOM):
IOM constitutes part of the shipping document used for installation and operation as the name suggests.
IOM also lists the volume and number of consumables such as bolts, gaskets, oil that is needed for installation, operation and periodic check, servicing and maintenance.
Pre Commissioning & Commissioning:
Before the equipment become fully operational, it needs to be pre commissioned to see whether it is in working order and then commissioned together with a series of other equipment to see whether the whole group of equipment works in unison satisfactorily.
All these activities have a sequence of tests that should be followed (called ITP) and a number of checklists that need to be ticked before the equipment is declared safe (called mechanical completion) in order to initiate pre-commissioning and commissioning.
